🤖 These are suggested practice loops, not real test routes. We don't yet have a sourced route for this centre from a driving school or test-taker. Instead, these loops are built automatically from real local roads around the test centre, checked to make sure they're a sensible, drivable, non-repeating circuit of roughly the right length — but no examiner has ever driven them and they're not based on any known test. Use them to get comfortable with the kinds of roads near your centre, not as a predicted route.

Routes

Where you'll likely practise manoeuvres: This loop leans on Bedford's ring-road roundabouts for manoeuvre practice -- expect back-to-back roundabout work at Hassett Street, Union Street, the Great Ouse Way crossing and the A6 junction, plus a second pass through Clapham Road's roundabout near the end. The opening stretch through Brickhill's estate roads (Kestrel Road, Starling Way, Linnet Way) is tight and residential, good for observation at give-way junctions, while De Parys Avenue and The Broadway are wider, terrace-lined streets typical of a parking or pedestrian-awareness stretch.

Where you'll likely practise manoeuvres: The middle of this route runs straight through Bedford town centre -- Tavistock Street, the High Street and St Paul's Square are narrow, parked-car-lined streets where observation and pedestrian awareness matter most. It then heads out to Bromham Bridge and Stagsden Road, a rural, more open stretch across the river worth treating as a change of pace, before finishing with a run of roundabouts (Clapham Road, twice) and a loop through the Brickhill estate roads.

Where you'll likely practise manoeuvres: This is the busiest of the three Bedford loops for roundabout practice -- 12 in total, including a run through the town centre (Longholme Way, Rope Walk, St Johns Street) and another pair out by the A6/Great Ouse Way crossing. It also swings out to Box End Road and back over Bromham Bridge, a quieter rural stretch that breaks up an otherwise junction-heavy route, and threads through Newnham Avenue's residential turns (Castle Road, Phillpotts Avenue) partway through.

🚦 Looking for the theory test, not the practical? This page covers practical test routes only — the theory test (multiple-choice questions plus hazard perception) is a separate exam held at different venues. Use the official theory test centre finder to find your nearest one and book at gov.uk/book-theory-test. See theory test vs. practical test for how the two differ. Once you've passed, bookmark this page — come back and work through Bedford's practice routes above before your practical.
The DVSA stopped publishing official test routes in 2010, and no third-party source for this specific centre exists yet — see the note above. Not affiliated with or endorsed by the DVSA.
